Squad Provided Training Classes

The attached PDF file lists the training classes that will be paid for by the Scotchwood EMS Training Alliance as discussed at the monthly meeting. Free CEU Training is available to members of the following squads only:

  • Fanwood Rescue Squad
  • Scotch Plains Rescue Squad
  • Springfield First Aid Squad
  • Summit First Aid Squad
  • Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad.

 

Sign up on njoemscert.com and search for NJOEMSCERT CLASS CODE and register for class.

CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers
 
Will be offered on the following days at the Squad Building. 
  
  • Saturday: June 26, 2010 - 10am to 2pm
  • Saturday: September 25, 2010 - 10am to 2pm
  • Saturday: January 8, 2011 - 10am to 2pm
  • Saturday:  March 19, 2011 - 10am to 2pm
     
Please let me know if you wish to take one of these clases.  If you need a CPR class but these dates do not work for you, please let me know.  We can make other arrangements, but I'd like to keep to this schedule.

Mandatory Training: Developmental Disabilities Awareness Training for NJ First Responders

 

DO NO HARM - Developmental Disabilities Awareness Training for New Jersey First Responders is the mandatory on-line training course for all emergency responders (including NJ-certified EMTs and Paramedics) regarding appropriate recognition and response techniques for use when encountering any individual with autism or any other developmental disability. 

 

Go to www.NJLearn.com to access the course.  Save your course certificate as proof that you completed this training.  This course must be completed as one of your 24 elective CEUs needed for your next recertification beginning with all certifications expiring December 31, 2010 and afterwards.  

 

* Newly certified NJ EMTs must complete this course as part of their first certification cycle.
